Muscular pain is often characterized by what many therapists call "triggerpoints". These small, hyperirritable sites in the muscle tissue sometimes produce referred pain at other locations in other muscles in the body. Sometimes these trigger points reside quietly in the muscle until they are struck or strained, causing them to "fire" and bring on acute failure in function and pain. In some cases pain is so severe, persistent or widespread that only medical intervention can treat it effectively. In many cases, however, pain can be managed and eventually overcome by some simple techniques that are very much within reach. Our tools are designed to be helpful in such situations. Trigger point pain often responds to firm, physical pressure, applied by hand, deep in the muscle tissue. This technique, often called "ischemic compression" or "myofascial release" by therapists, causes the muscle to relax, reduces pain, improves circulation and increases muscular flexibility. These immediate effects on the muscles enable more effective stretching, exercise and better overall function...
The Original Jack
The Original Jacknobber II
The Original Jacknobber II® can be held in the hand to give a most pleasant and relaxing back, neck, and shoulder massage. Smaller knobs will give a deeper pressure; the larger knobs will give a more diffused, gentler pressure. One knob may be used to press deeply into trouble spots or trigger points. Two knobs at a time can be used to press into muscles on either side of the spine. Pressure can be either deep and intense or gentle and relaxing according to the preferences and needs of the recipient.
Molded in highly durable, richly colored polymer, the unique, ergonomic design of The Original Jacknobber II® massage tool makes it ideal for clinic or home use.
The IndexKnobber II® is a simple, ergonomic device designed primarily for "hands on" therapists and care givers to apply deep, ischemic compression of muscular trigger points as well as relaxing massage. Molded in highly durable, richly colored polymer, The Original IndexKnobber II® permits the therapist to apply sustained, precise pressure to trigger points while protecting against fatigue and overuse injury of the therapists own hand and forearm. It is ideal for clinical or home care applications.
